Man landed in court for faking death during fraud case.

A middle age man named Mr Smart Nwekene from Delta state today Wednesday 8th of December 2021 appeared before federal high court Osogbo for faking death during the fraud case to evade justice.
Mr Nwekene was arraigned by the EFCC today to face fresh charge of faking his death during a fraud case which started since January 2019.
Mr Nwekene was in court in 2019 in fraud related case and was granted bail by the court,but he later filed a motion before court for standing down his trail sighting poor health condition as the reason. Having convinced the court with relevant documents to proof his illness,the court granted his request that his trial be put on hold pending the time he will be able to stand the trial.
During this period, Mr Nwekene committed another offence with connivance with some of his friends and relatives who presented relevant papers to proof that he is dead, they went to national hospital to procured paper that he is dead with issuance of his death certificate from national hospital and National population commission which were presented to the EFCC to convince the anti graft agency that he is dead.
This could only sustained him for some times before it was later discovered that he is not dead and he was rearrested by the EFCC to face fresh charge of faking his death to evade justice.
His case has been adjourned till January 19th 2022.
