The newly installed Mayegun of Yoruba land, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal popularly known as K1 the ultimate has made a U -Turn on his earlier stand on who actually created the Fuji Music which the late Fuji legend, Aare Dr Sikiru Ayinde Barrister laid claim to throughout his life time.
The Oluaye of Fuji made this known recently during an interview with newsmen after he was installed as the first Mayegun of Yoruba land by the Alaafin of Oyo Iku Baba Yeye Atanda Lamidi.

“I never said Sikiru Ayinde Barrister was not Fuji Creator, it is issue of nomenclature, I saw him as the Glory of Fuji. I spoke about what metamorphosed into Fuji which was were music. It was Ayinde Barrister that changed it to Fuji, he was the one who did it, I’m a witness, I was there. I lived with him, he accepted me and showered me with love. Why would I want to rubbish him? Denying that he was the turning point of Were Music to Fuji Music is like denying that my father and mother are not my parents. It is through him we all became somebody today. That’s a fact, not disputable. I’m his product. I am proud to say that. I know my position which was deliberately misunderstood has generated crisis but the truth is that Were Music was what everyone was singing, it was the only song we sang then among those of us who called ourselves Fuji musicians but it was Barrister that changed it to Fuji. I will never dispute that fact because the glory of Fuji is Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Barrister…..Nobody was as close to him as I was, that is a fact….”
