Akingunola, while addressing party faithful and supporters, said Aregbesolaโs political journey remains a remarkable example of resilience, discipline, ideological consistency and unwavering dedication to the welfare of ordinary citizens.
According to him, โOgbeni Rauf Aregbesola has distinguished himself over the years as a leader with uncommon courage, political depth and enduring commitment to the progressive ideals of justice, fairness and people-centred governance. His style of leadership has continued to inspire many young politicians across Nigeria who believe politics should be about service to the people and not personal enrichment.โ
The ADC candidate noted that Aregbesolaโs influence transcends partisan boundaries, stressing that his contribution to democratic growth, youth inclusion and grassroots political mobilisation cannot be overlooked in contemporary Nigerian politics.
He further stated that at a time when many Nigerians have become disillusioned with the political class, leaders like Aregbesola continue to offer hope through their consistency, simplicity and direct engagement with the masses.
โHis courage in defending democratic principles, his ability to connect with the grassroots and his passion for empowering young people remain qualities worthy of emulation. He has shown that leadership is not merely about occupying office, but about standing firmly with the people even in difficult moments.โ Akingunola added.
Akingunola also commended Aregbesola for his role in strengthening opposition politics and internal democracy within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), noting that his presence has further energised party members and increased public confidence in the partyโs vision for national renewal.
He described the former minister as โa stabilising force and a rallying point for progressive-minded Nigerians seeking credible political alternatives ahead of the 2027 general elections.โ
The youthful politician reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the ideals of transparent leadership, youth participation, community development and responsive representation, stating that the ADC remains committed to building a people-driven political movement capable of restoring public trust in governance.
He called on Nigerian youths to draw inspiration from leaders who have demonstrated integrity, courage and consistency over the years, stressing that the future of the country depends largely on the emergence of selfless and visionary leadership.
History will always remember leaders who stood with the people, defended democratic values and sacrificed personal comfort for the collective good of society. Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has undoubtedly earned his place among such leaders.โ He concluded.
