Olubadan-designate, Oba Rasidi Ladoja, has weighed in on the lingering supremacy feud between the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade. According to Oba Ladoja, the supporters of both monarchs are to blame for the ongoing dispute, as they’re trying to justify their positions based on subjective historical accounts .

Oba Ladoja emphasized that neither the Ooni of Ife nor the Alaafin of Oyo promotes disunity, but rather their respective followers. He urged these supporters to focus on developing Yorubaland instead of fueling discord. The monarch also stressed the importance of unity among Yoruba traditional rulers, citing the need for cooperation to enhance the development of their respective domains.

In a related development, the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams, has been working to resolve the supremacy dispute between the Ooni and the Alaafin, emphasizing that Yorubaland cannot afford to be divided .
