Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has expressed fears that he may not be alive to contest the 2027 presidential election, alleging that his activities are being deliberately frustrated by the current government.
Speaking during an interview on With Chude, Obi said his concern goes beyond whether he will emerge as a candidate, claiming he faces persistent obstacles in his daily activities.
“Not even a candidate. I might not even be alive. Every single thing I do for a living, this government is frustrating. Deliberately so. Everything. So, there is even a possibility, if they have the opportunity, I will not be alive.”
Obi, however, clarified that he was not making a direct accusation against any individual but said his remarks were based on what he described as his daily experiences of obstruction and intimidation. His comments have since sparked widespread reactions across Nigeria’s political landscape, with supporters expressing concern while critics questioned the basis of his claims. �
