Former Vice President and ADC Presidential Candidate, His Excellency Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, will on (Today) Wednesday, 23rd September 2026, visit Minna, Niger State, to extend his condolences to the families and people of Niger State following the tragic death of 37 Nigerians who died while in the custody of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
The visit, scheduled to take place at the Emir Palace, Minna, is a gesture of sympathy, solidarity and respect for the deceased and their bereaved families.
Beyond condolences, the tragedy has raised serious questions about the circumstances surrounding the deaths. Atiku has called for a thorough, independent and transparent investigation, with the findings made public and anyone found responsible through action, abuse or negligence held accountable.
The families deserve the truth.
Niger State deserves answers.
Every Nigerian deserves dignity and protection in custody.
