The state of osun house of assembly has received a draft bill on Amotekun, a regional security initiative of the Southwest Governors following the endorsement of the proposed bill by the State Executive Council led by Governor Gboyega Oyetola.

Timothy Owoeye through his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Alabi confirmed the receipt of the bill which awaits further consideration and approval of the lawmakers.
Governor Gboyega Oyetola had on Thursday convened an emergency state executive council meeting to solely deliberate and endorse the draft bill seeking the creation of Amotekun, a joint security initiative of the Southwest Governors aimed at addressing the growing spate of insecurity in the region.
Following the endorsement of the draft bill , the governor with immediate effect sent it to the House of Assembly for further consideration.
The State of Osun House of Assembly like her other counterpart is expected to give the bill a speedy consideration in the coming days so as to put the state of Osun on the same page with her colleagues in the committee of States in the southwest .
The bill when passed provides answers to questions of legality impeding the establishment of the regional security outfit.
