BEFORE WARNED:
May the almighty Allah continue to bless this man of God, Sheik Marufdeen Ishola, the then Mufasir of Osogbo land.
He was the first man of God and a lover of Progressive government who saw the calamity that eventually befell the APC under former governor Gboyega Oyetola and voiced out in the presence of both leaders, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola in May 2019.
Though this man of God might have forgotten now, but some of us who witnessed the event can still remember how he hinted of the danger ahead should APC fail to nip the crisis in the bud. He openly challenged both Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola not to pretend that all is well between them, but they should rather open up and resolve whatever differences between them for the future of the party in the state.
Although Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola on his own part wondered what would have been the reason for that insinuation because according to him, he is not having any negative thinking or mind against his successor. He explained further that it would not have been possible for him to enter the banquet hall of the government house for his birthday program had it been it was the opposition PDP that succeeded him in office so, it is his joy that he had a successor from his own party.
While responding, former governor Oyetola said he heard it from a source he did not mention that Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola said he will not be allowed to spend more than a term as governor of the state and he has been nicknamed “Ambode Osun” by Ogbeni, the allegation which Ogbeni vehemently denied and he further narrated how his relationship with Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola started in the 90s and wonder what would have brought crisis between them now if they have been together for that long without any.
It was after this program that Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola constituted his cabinet of more than thirty members without conceding a single slot to his predecessor.
THEN THE BATTLE LINE:
In this same year, December 20th to be precisely, Ogbeni was coronated as Amir Waziri of Osun and Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola having agreed and choose date for the program jeted out of the country to Ummrah a day to the event and gave standing order to all his cabinet members not to attend the program.
Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola tried all he could to cover up this lapses openly by telling the gathering who were discussing Oyetola’s absence in huss tone that the travelling was a necessity and Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola had done all necessary things for the success of the program before embarking on the trip.
The crisis escalated when Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola returned from his trip and started dealing with all political office holders that dare attended the turban.
The first casualty on this is former Osogbo local government chairman Abdulhakeem Olaoye a.k.a #Otaoroju and many others. He was removed from office for some months before he was reinstated back after the intervention of some leaders.
Had it been former governor Oyetola had managed the crisis well, the APC wouldn’t have lost all seats completely to the PDP in the last February 25th general elections because it was purely bandwagon effect of the lost of governorship seat of july 16th that affected the subsequent elections.
You don’t expect the people you sidelined for complete three and half years fighting unnecessary political battle to support your second term bid, it has never happened before anywhere in the world.
Imagine both leaders have heeded the world of wisdom from this Sheik, APC would have remain in power till date but, Ajá tíy’ó sonùn
