I really thank almighty Allah for his blessings over Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola’s life and particularly his political carrier.
Since he has being holding political offices either appointed or elected, he has never been removed,sacked or voted out.
He was the Director General of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu governorship election campaigns in 1999 and 2003 respectively and he led the campaigns to success.
His first political appointment was in 1999 when his political leader and mentor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu became governor of Lagos state and he was given works and infrastructure ministry, he retained the same portfolio in 2003 after Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was inaugurated for the second term.
He lunched his governorship campaigns in Osun in 2004 after the PDP has taken over power in Osun from Chief Abdulkareem Adebisi Akande of Alliance for Democracy (AD) in 2003.
Rauf Aregbesola was approached by chief Adebisi Akande in 2002 after Iyiola Omisore was impeached successfully by the state house of assemble after he was found guilty of impeachable offences levied against him by the Osun state house of assemble, to come and deputies him. Rauf Aregbesola vehemently rejected the offer because as at that period Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was preparing to recontest the Lagos state governorship for another term and Rauf Aregbesola was very crucial to his campaign as the Director General. Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola would have just grabbed the offer if he were to be another politician who is desperate for power, but he told chief Adebisi Akande that the second term reelection bid of his boss is more important and crucial to him than taking up deputy governor slot in Osun.
In 2004, Rauf Aregbesola finally lunched himself in to Osun political circle and wrestled power with Brigadier general (Prince) Olagunsoye Oyinlola in 2007 Osun governorship election and he was rigged out.
The battle to reclaim his stolen mandate took him three and half years before he finally reclaimed his mandate in November 2010.
Immediately Rauf Aregbesola took over the mantle of leadership in Osun, he swung in to action and showcased what he has in stocks for the people of the state and eventually lunched himself in to the heart of the people of the state with his people’s oriented programs namely 👇

Rauf Aregbesola never got all he got on a platter of gold, his has always been tough battle and he has always been winning.
During his second term reelection bid, he wrestled a very tough political battle with PDP led federal might and won his reelection with more than one hundred thousands, 100,000 margin with senator Iyiola Omisore who was the PDP governorship candidate by then.
Rauf Aregbesola was the first governor of Osun to secure second term reelection and ruled the state successfully for eight uninterrupted years and he successfully handed over to his chosen successor from his party APC in November 27th 2018.
On completion of his tenure as the governor of the state, the president of the federal republic of Nigeria 🇳🇬, Muhammadu Buhari appointed him as a minister of the federal republic of Nigeria and he was given interior ministry to man.
He man the ministry of interior like never before and the records are there for everybody to see.
I wish Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola more success in his future political endeavors.
