State of Osun chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Gboyega Famodun, has enjoined members of the public in general and members of the party in particular to seize the opportunity provided by the state government to begin an interactive session with the people of the state.
Famodun in a statement issued by his Media Consultant, Kola Olabisi, in Osogbo today stated that the interactive session organised by the state government was part of the hallmarks of participatory democracy required to further strengthen the pillar of of the democratic government in the state.
The state party chairman disclosed that the programme tagged ‘Apero’ which maiden edition is slated for Akinorun Grammar School, Ikirun, in Ifelodun Local Government Council Area of the state on Tuesday February 25, 2020, at 10:00am is an indication that Governor Gboyega Oyetola imbibes glaring openness in his administration.
He said, it was a unique thing that the rotational programme in all the nine federal constituencies making up the state would afford the constituents an unfettered opportunity to meet the governor with whatever may be their knotty issues live and direct.
Famodun specifically appealed to the members and leaders of the party to identify with the programme and duly give it a priority attention it deserves.
In his statement: “Let our party members and leaders particularly in the host federal constituency see the governor’s interactive programme as a necessity for attendance.
“It is also worthwhile for the attendees to maintain peace and decorum before, during and after the programme in the interest of the people.
“The occasion should not be turned to an avenue where the opposition would convert to an arena to ask questions in uncivil manner in order to embarrass the governor”, he counselled.
Famodun also appealed to all and sundry that the state belongs to everyone and nothing untowards must be promoted to destabilise the subsisting peace and harmony in the state.
“After politics is government. What is in our state now is government. It is the duty of all genuine lovers of the state to desist from promotion of divisive tendencies all in the name of politics”, the state party chairman said.
