OSUN 7th ASSEMBLY SET TO PASS 2020 APPROPRIATION BILL INTO LAW

The house of assembly of Osun State is set to pass the 2020 Appropriation Bill into law following the adoption of the report of house Committee on finance and appropriation read by Hon Taiwo Adebayo Olodo during the house proceeding today.

The house committee on finance and appropriation has between Nov.26 and Dec 19,2019 conducted a defence of the budget of the 78 MDA’S ensure checks and balances before the approval of the 2020 budget presented by Governor Gboyega Oyetola on the Nov 13,2019 in line with section 121 sub.section 1 of the 1999 constitution as amended.

At the resumption of plenary on Monday the speaker Timothy Owoeye,calls for the report of the finance and appropriation committee led by Taiwo Adebayo-Olodo and after its presentation lawmakers carefully considered the report with adjournment at the committee of the whole and was later adopted by the house.

The house committee in her recommendation to their colleagues charged the MDAs to intensify effort to increase the revenues of their various ministries to ease the implementation of the year 2020 budget.

The house is expected to pass the 2020 appropriation bill into law when it resume on Tuesday.
Earlier the lawmaker considered and adopted the legislative agenda for the 7th Assembly conprising 6 action plans which include, quality legislation, effective oversight, accountable and democratic assembly, operation of E-parliment effective public engagement and provision of legislative research centre.
