Now that governor Ademola Adeleke is settling down for the real business of governance.

NOW THAT GOVERNOR ADEMOLA ADELEKE IS SETTLING DOWN FOR REAL BUSINESS OF GOVERNANCE:

First of all, let me congratulate the executive governor of Osun senator Ademola Adeleke over his victory at the apex court of Nigeria on Tuesday 9th of May 2023 after six months of legal battle. It is indeed a well deserved victory for democracy and rule of law.

Although the litigations as it was did not affect the performance of Mr governor much but, no matter how little a distraction is, it still called distraction and will definitely affect the activities of government. Now that Mr governor is settling down for the real business of governance and will start this by appointment of some people to man ministries and all government establishments among which is local government administration, Mr governor need to watch the calibres of people that will work with him to let the people at the grassroots feel the impacts of his administration.

Although I am not a member of the ruling party but opposition party, but notwithstanding as a citizen of the state, I think it is part of my duties to make my contributions and advice for the development of our dear state and country at large. As a result of the above, I want to advice Mr governor and the leadership of the new ruling party in the state to always make sure their appointments reflect fairness and balance. For instance, in Egbedore local government main council where I comes from, we are having eight wards now after the caving away of Egbedore South LCDA and Area council from the main council and the largest ward in Egbedore local government main council if I am not mistaking is Egbedore ward 3.
The outgoing honorable representing Egbedore state constituency is from Egbedore ward 3, which means the next chairman of the local government should come from that ward base on the zoning arrangements.

Ara and Iragberi are the two major towns with two wards each and the incoming honorable to succeed the outgoing one who is from Egbedore ward 3 is from Iragberi ward 6, while ward one, which is Awo is enjoying house of representatives seat since 2019 and has just secured second term during the last national assembly elections.

People have started lobbying for the caretaker committee which Mr governor will first put in place before go for election and the lobbying is already in top gear and this is exactly the basis of this write-up.

A lot of people have shown interest in becoming the chairman of my local government which is normal in democratic settings and from my investigations, from Ara ward 2, which is Egbedore ward 3, three people have shown interest so far among whom is the former honorable who has once represented Egbedore state constituency in the past, Hon Okun Obiremi.
After the interventions of some leaders and elders in my community, I learnt that two of the contenders have stepped down for Hon Okun Obiremi who the most experienced among all of them.
How I wish Mr governor and the leadership of PDP will give express approval for this endorsement as the most qualified and experienced among all the contenders both from Ara and beyond.
