90 days roads travel challenge: stop sensation and get settled for real business as law maker, Mandate team charges Bamidele Salam.

90 DAYS ROAD TRAVELS CHALLENGE: STOP SENSATIONS AND GET SETTLED FOR REAL BUSINESS AS A LAWMAKER.

Our lawmaker in the house of representatives, Hon. Bamidele Salam, few days ago threw a 90 days road travel challenge at the Hon. Minister of works, Babatunde Raji Fashola. This, according to him, will enable the minister to appraise the very deplorable condition of the roads in different parts of the country.
Good as this may sound, the attendant sensation through a signed press statement to media houses on what seems to be a mere suggestion rather than a parliamentary statement expected of a federal lawmaker has sparked insinuations whether the call was made in good or bad faith or just to score a cheap point through the press.
Hon. Bamidele salam is covered under several legislative procedures and previledges to air his opinion and achieve the expected result rather than employing a pseudo – advocate approach through a media sensation via a signed press statement that will achieve nothing.

Calling the attention of the house under a matter of urgent public importance to the statement made by the Hon. minister of works will achieve something hopeful especially with his being a member of the house of representatives committee on works.
It can be acknowledged by Nigerians that the government of President Muhammadu Buhari has done a lot and is still doing a lot in the area of infrastructural development across Nigeria, these include road projects abandoned by the PDP after 16 years of governance.

Hon.Bamidele Salaam is hereby advised to get settled for real business of representation rather than applying sensation as a means of performing his legislative duties. The business of representation is a very serious business where the interest of the constituents will be protected beyond issuing a mere press statement.
