DISREGARD FAKE NEWS: OFATEDO, IDO-OSUN REMAINS PEACEFUL AND UNITED

The Palace of Ido-Osun Aláyémọrẹ Kingdom wishes to address the misleading reports circulating on social media regarding an alleged communal clash between Ido-Osun and Ofatedo. His Royal Majesty, Oba Olayinka Oyetunde Ishola Jokotola II, Ilufemiloye I, Olojudo Aláyémọrẹ of Ido-Osun, categorically states that these claims are false, baseless, and entirely misleading.

Ido-Osun remains a peaceful and law-abiding town, with no conflict or hostility toward its neighboring community. The Palace strongly condemns the spread of fake news aimed at inciting fear, tension, and division among the people.

A Stern Warning to Purveyors of Falsehoods

The Palace warns all individuals and social media handlers involved in spreading these false claims to desist immediately. The Palace will not hesitate to take legal action against anyone found guilty of fabricating or disseminating misleading information capable of disrupting the peace and unity of our land.

We urge the public to seek credible and authoritative sources before sharing or believing any news. False information can cause unnecessary panic and tension, which is detrimental to the progress of our communities.

No Cause for Alarm

His Royal Majesty calls on all sons and daughters of Ido-Osun Aláyémọrẹ to continue their daily activities without fear or apprehension, as the town remains safe, united, and committed to peace and progress.

Commiseration and a Call for Lasting Peace

In the spirit of unity and shared humanity, His Royal Majesty expresses deep condolences to the people of Ifon, Ilobu, and Erin-Osun, who recently suffered loss of lives and property due to communal clashes. We stand with the affected families, praying for the souls of the departed, swift healing for the injured, and restoration for those impacted.

We also acknowledge and appreciate the Osun State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency Governor Ademola Adeleke, for its swift intervention in restoring peace and stability. We urge the government to continue fostering lasting peace and conflict resolution mechanisms to prevent further occurrences of communal crises across the state.

May peace, unity, and prosperity continue to reign in our land.
