As the world celebrates 2025 Children’s Day, the Chairman of Ede South Local Government Area of Osun State, Hon. Afolabi Lukman (Abere Soose), urged parents and guardians to promote and protect their children’s rights.
According to the council chairman, this will enable parents and guardians to appreciate the little things that bring joy to their children.
In a statement released through the council boss’s media unit on Tuesday, he said his administration is fully committed to ensuring children are given the enabling environment to develop themselves for a better future.
Afolabi noted that because children are the leaders of tomorrow, they deserve to be nurtured properly and protected against all forms of social vices.
He urged parents to take a moment to appreciate the little things that bring joy to kids.
His statement reads: As we celebrate Children’s Day, let’s take a moment to appreciate the little things that bring joy to kids.
“A simple smile, a favorite toy, or a fun game can light up a child’s face and fill their heart with happiness. These small pleasures remind us of the importance of living in the moment and finding joy in everyday life.
“As we celebrate Children’s Day, let’s also remember the importance of protecting and promoting children’s rights. Every child deserves access to quality education, healthcare, and protection from harm.
“I want to assure all parents and guardians that my administration will continue to provide enabling environment for children to develop themselves for a better future.
“I equally want to use this opportunity to appreciate the teachers and caregivers who work tirelessly to support and nurture our children. These individuals play a vital role in shaping the minds and hearts of our young ones, and their dedication and hard work are essential to helping children grow and thrive.
“On behalf of the good people of Ede South Local Government, I congratulate all children on this special day.”
