𝗢𝘀𝘂𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲: 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗳𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗱𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗺𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗮𝗯𝗶’𝘀 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲.

As Osun State inches closer to the pivotal 2026 gubernatorial election, there’s a rising chorus from political actors outside the state suggesting that federal might will once again dictate the outcome. But let’s be clear: Osun is no longer a playground for power brokers in Abuja. The people have evolved and so has their political consciousness.

At the heart of this growing awareness is the Omoluabi Progressive Movement, championed by former governor Rauf Aregbesola. Built on a foundation of integrity, discipline, and service, the Omoluabi ethos is not just a slogan it’s a political philosophy rooted in the values of good governance, accountability, and respect for the people.

It was Aregbesola who redefined governance in Osun with bold infrastructural projects, education reforms, and a genuine connection to grassroots needs. His brand of politics was never about loyalty to power at the center, but loyalty to the people. Today, the Omoluabi Movement represents a return to that principle and it is gaining momentum across the state.

Federal might, in all its intimidating form, cannot erase the legacy of service and sincerity that the Omoluabi structure embodies. In fact, attempts to impose candidates from above, without local legitimacy, will only deepen the disconnect between the people and the so called “powerful.” Osun voters have shown repeatedly from the tight 2018 race to the dramatic shift in 2022 that they value track records over titles, character over coercion.

Omoluabi Progressives are not banking on muscle or money; they are mobilizing minds and hearts. With a focus on rebuilding trust in governance, they are speaking directly to the people not through federal agents, but through community leaders, youth groups, market women, and civil society.

If 2026 will be a battle, it will not be fought in Abuja boardrooms it will be decided in the hearts of Osun people. And in that arena, the Omoluabi spirit is not only alive it’s rising.

Let those who believe in bulldozing their way to power be warned: Osun is awake. And the era of imposed leadership is over.
