The Executive Chairman of Ede South Local Government Area of Osun State, Hon. Lukman Afolabi (popularly known as Abere Soose), has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the Chief Imam of Ansar-ud-deen Society, Ede branch, Sheikh Ibrahim Adekilekun.
In his condolence message, Hon. Afolabi described the late cleric as โa man of peace, knowledge, and integrity whose leadership in the Muslim community left an indelible mark on Ede and beyond.โ
According to him, Sheikh Adekilekun was not only a religious leader but also a father figure who guided generations of faithful with wisdom, humility, and unwavering commitment to Islamic values. โThe late Imam was a shining light whose sermons and lifestyle taught us the true meaning of faith and moral uprightness,โ he said.
The council chairman noted that the late Imamโs contributions to the spiritual growth of Muslims in Ede and Osun State at large will forever be remembered and cherished. โHe stood firmly for truth, guided us with fairness, and lived an exemplary life that we must all emulate,โ Hon. Afolabi added.
He further emphasized that Sheikh Adekilekunโs messages promoted peaceful coexistence, tolerance, and unity among all people regardless of faith. โHis words always calmed hearts, healed wounds, and drew people closer to God. That is the legacy he has left for us,โ the chairman remarked.
Hon. Afolabi condoled with the Ansar-ud-deen Society, the Muslim Ummah, and the entire people of Ede, urging them to find solace in the legacy of faith and service that the late Imam has left behind.
While praying for the repose of Sheikh Adekilekunโs soul, the council chairman said: โWe ask Almighty Allah to grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus and give his family, followers, and our entire community the strength to bear this irreparable loss.โ
He concluded by reaffirming the commitment of Ede South Local Government to supporting the Muslim community and preserving the values of peace and unity that the late Imam stood for throughout his lifetime.
