YOUR ALLEGATION IS BASELESS, APC TELLS BAMIDELE SALAM .

The attention of Ede South APC Central Campaign Council has been drawn to a press statement allegedly released by Mr Bamidele Salam, a candidate of PDP for Ede North / Ede South / Egbedore / Ejigbo Federal Constituency in the forth coming general elections. It’s alleged in the statement that some students of the Federal Polytechnic, Ede hired by the APC and her candidates were arrested with fake voter’s cards on the eve of rescheduled Presidential and National Assembly Elections.

For the sake of clarifications, we wish to inform the general public that the allegations made by Mr. Bamidele Salam is nothing but a concocted falsehood, fabricated to discredit our dear party (APC) and her candidates. It’s just an attempt to hoodwink the general public so as to curry an undeserved sympathy from the voters. This is indeed a failed mission, for we are resolute in our desire to ensure that Ede South is not left out of the ‘next level ‘.

As a party that believes so much in democratic tenets and its operations, we trust on our ability to sell our candidates for all the elections through a globally accepted processes of campaign, and through all well known decent medium (including social media platforms where necessary).

We believed that it is generally known that, PDP as a party never believes in any transparent process and that is why their candidate, Mr. Bamidele salam is crying blue murder at present. They thought, we could follow the same path, but, surely, we are not known for that, and we can’t start now.

We all know what takes place during elections, especially in places that are populated with students and other non indigenes. In most circumstances, students are sent home on a break purposely to exercise their franchise only at their place of registration , one will now wonder when this process now translates to using the students for illegal voting exercise, even in their own locality.

We believed that Mr Bamidele Salam should prove his allegations by showing us the names and identity of such students, including the fake voters’ cards found on them.

Ede as a town plays host to different Institutions of Higher Learning (including Adeleke University). The turning of Adeleke University as well as Country Home to a camping ground during any election period is a secret to no one. So, one wonders why students utilizing the opportunity of the break to exercise their franchise transforms to voting machinery in a particular location, when in the actual sense, their freedom of movement is gaurateed.

We wish to advise the PDP and Mr Bamidele Salam to toe a line of decency in their campaign and stop heating up the polity by such provocative statements, even though, we understand the frustration of PDP as regard the coming elections,as nothing but a clear defeat is starring at them.

We enjoined our Police and other security agencies to continue their peace making duty of ensuring a peaceful atmosphere, before, during and after the elections. They should not be swayed by the apparent blackmail of PDP.

We, therefore encourage our teeming supporters, party members in Ede North / Ede South / Egbedore /Ejigbo to ignore the attempt distraction of Mr Bamidele Salam and his party (PDP). We are urged to continue our massive voter’s mobilization and sensitization drive until our goal of electing our candidates for the various positions is achieved. Victory is surely ours, by God’s grace.

Signed
Nureni Adesoye
