Oluọmọ Kolapo Alimi, was born on the fourth of January, 1970 to the family of Alhaji Adebisi Alimi and Alhaja Mulikat Alimi at Agbodi’s compound, Ẹrin-Osun. Between 1977 and 1983, Oluọmọ Kolapo Alimi passed through his primary school education at Christ Apostolic Church primary school 11, Ẹlẹta, Ibadan, Oyo State. He proceeded to Urban day Grammar School, Elekuro, Ibadan, Oyo State for his secondary education between 1983 and 1988. And the next education experience after his Secondary school was the prestigious Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, Ondo State, between 1989 to 1992, where he obtained the National Certificate of Education, NCE in Mathematics/Physics.
His qualification as a competent and energetic teacher, having trained as a certified teacher of mathematics/Physics made him to expediently and enjoyable invest his time, skills and interest into teaching of Mathematics and Physics in Ilobu Grammar School, Ilobu, Osun State.
Oluọmọ Kolapo Alimi while he was a mathematics and physics teacher then, he developed a strong interest in legal profession and the interest was strongly pursued to the logical conclusion. He studied Law in Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife between 1998 to 2003, having bagged LLB, He proceeded to Nigeria Law School, Lagos campus, between 2004 to 2005 and he was called to Bar in the same year (2005).
He actively joined the world of legal practitioners in 2005 while he practiced in the Law Film of Fowe, Awosode & Association based in Ibadan as counsel between the month of January 2016 to November 2016. He later joined the firm of G.O Awojori & Co which was based in Osogbo, Osun State. He as well worked with the giant Law firm of Wale Afolabi & Co in Osogbo, Osun State. Barr Kolapo Alimi took part in many epic Legal battles such as Aregbesola V. Oyinlola, Wole Oke V. Nathaniel Agunbiade, Adeyeye V. Simeon Oduoye, Omoworare V. Omisore, e.t.c
There he was, actively practicing Law when he was appointed as the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs by Ọgbẹni Abdulrauf Adesoji Aregbesola and he served under the administration between 12th August, 2011 and 26 November, 2014. He was reappointed as the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs during the second term of the administration of Ọgbẹni Abdulrauf Adesoji Aregbesola on the 30tg May, 2017 and served meritoriously till 26th November, 2018.
It was in his leadership under Ọgbẹni Abdulrauf Adesoji Aregbesola that brought in extensive dialogue approach known as Alternative Dispute Resolution, to settlement of chieftaincy dispute among People of Osun State. Another very interesting approch of Oluọmọ Kolapo Alimi’s leadership vis-a-vis his leadership duties and responsibilities as commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs was strictly adherence to the rule of law in discharging his duties. He successfully ensured that all steps and actions were carried out in accordance to the letters of the Law and tradition and the good news is that the reflection was the stability at the grass root which indeed translated to the general stability across the State.
2020, he was appointed Senior Legislative Aide to Rt Hon Femi Gbajabiami.
In 2022, after the long battle between him and Oyetola because of political segregation being played by Oyetola administration then, He left APC and defected to PDP and he was made DDG Adeleke Campaign Council and worked tirelessly for the victory of Gov Ademola Adeleke ati the poll and participated in the Legal battles between Oyetola V. Adeleke in which Governor Ademola Adeleke came out victorious ahead of Oyetola.
Apart from being the teacher, a Politician, is an active legal practitioner of repute who specialized in Election petition. He is the principal partner, Kolapo Alimi & Co, a reputable Law firm based at No 93 Station Road, MONSHAALLAH HOUSE, Osogbo, Osun State. His understanding performance as a professional in one side and a figure with brilliant leadership qualities, he has won numerous local and international awards.
Oluọmọ Kolapo Alimi is joyfully married to his caring wives, Alhaja Naimot Ajike Alimi and Mrs Oluwakemi Monsurat Alimi and the unions is Blessed with children.and He is a member of Nigerian Bar Association and
international Bar Association.
