Total lockdown, a save our souls pleading to senator (Dr.) Ajibola Basiru, by Adegbite Adedamola. Ward 5, Alekuwodo Osogbo.

Dear Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru,

Your constituents in the state of Osun and inhabitants of the illustrious city of Osogbo applauds the incumbent administration in the state for the recent counter actions to protect the populace and mitigate the spread of the Coronavirus.

The need to lockdown the state and suspend almost all sources of livelihood to reduce transmission of the virus are unprecedented, but now necessary. As a result, businesses of all sizes across the state will have to stay closed and their owners made to stay at home. Although, this is a temporary event. It is critical at this moment that stakeholders assists individuals, families, and businesses as they traverse this period of no income. No family or persons should die of hunger and neglect just because of a temporary measure caused by the Coronavirus.

I humbly ask today that as the people’s representative you consider trying to provide meaningful support in the form of care packages and relief for your constituents.

The care package offered will serve as a glimmer of hope for people who make ends meet by been out of their bed every morning but are now conditioned to stay locked down at home because of the fright of having to contact and spread the virus if they don’t.

The care package could come in form of meaningful and most important necessities needed to weather the storm caused by the Coronavirus.

In the coming days, the people will need someone to give them hope in this very dark times of despair, I hope the light of Alubarikah shone on you will be bright enough to reflect succor on to all of us, your constituents.

Even though, we all should avoid having to politicise issues at this time, but I believe this endeavor will further endear you to the132,821 that voted for you and the 106,779 who didn’t.

Thank you for your leadership. I look forward to continuing to be proud of your works.

Sincerely,

Adegbite Adedamola.
Ward 5, Alekuwodo Osogbo.
