Prince Famodun felicitates with Osun cabinet nominees, cautions against inflammatory jubilation

With the successful transmission of the 35 names of the commissioner and special adviser-nominees to the state House of Assembly by Osun State Governor Gboyega Oyetola yesterday, the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Gboyega Famodun, has congratulated those who made the list.

In a statement signed by his Media Consultant, Kola Olabisi, in Osogbo today, Famodun prayed for the cabinet nominees for God’s guidance to complete the remaining part of the appointment process.

The party chairman told them to consider themselves lucky to have come out successfully among the galaxy of other competent stakeholders of the party.

He advised them to shun the culture of superiority complex over other up and doing members of the party, adding that it would pay them the more by extending a hand of fellowship to their party family members who did not make the list.

Famodun stated that it wasn’t an act of wickedness on the part of either the governor or himself that prevented some people from making the list and that it was due to limitation of the number of people required for the cabinet.

The Igbajo-born APC state chairman hinted that there is no way everyone can become either a commissioner or special adviser, assuring that there is a latitude to fill other available political spaces soonest.

He also advised the new commissioner and special adviser-nominees to celebrate the development with moderation and caution their supporters and foot soldiers from issuing inflammatory statements against other unsuccessful members of the party who could not make the list.

In Famodun’s statement: “This unfolding event should be a binding agent and not the one that will further polarise the party. The nominees should caution their supporters from issuing inflammatory statements that are capable of causing disharmony in the party.

“We are watching critically. Neither Governor Oyetola nor myself, the state chairman, is having a favourite among the members of the party. You are all our favourites. It is just that it is compulsory that in a game of two, one person must emerge a winner.

“The party will frown against any supporter or footsoldier of any of the nominees who engages in issuing any frivolous inflamatory statement under the guise of congratulating his principal”.

The state party chairman enjoined all the stakeholders of the party to continue to operate in perpetual amity and unity in the overall interest of the party.
