Parliamentary system of government Versus Presidential system in the state of Osun; what actually transpired at the court of appeal on the subject matter.

“OSUN STATE GOVERNMENT vs. KANMI AJIBOLA
COURT OF APPEAL DISMISSED THE APPEAL ON PARLIAMENTARY SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT IN OSUN STATE”.

KANMI AJIBOLA FALSEHOOD ON PARLIAMENTARY SYSTEM.

This is true story of the matter:

The above news item is a total falsehood of what transpired in Court of Appeal today. The substantive suit which is still pending before the High Court 3, Ilesa was filed by Kanmi Ajibola contending the legality of the Local Government Administration Law which recognised parliamentary system of government for local government system in the State claiming the amendment has denied him the opportunity to contest for Chairmanship of Obokun Local Government. However, Ifedayo Local Government sought to join the suit at the lower court but it’s application for joinder was refused and the Local Government appealed the ruling of the Court. The Local Government failed to diligently prosecute the appeal as the counsel to the Local Government – Barr. Okedara claimed he was not mobilised a penny by the Local Government when contacted on phone by the State Counsel – Hassan Agbelekale who appeared for the Governor of Osun State as 2nd Respondent to the appeal. Consequently, the Court of Appeal dismissed for lack of diligent prosecution the appeal of Ifedayo Local Government challenging the refusal by the trial court to join the Local Government as a defendant in the substantive suit still pending at the lower court. In effect, the parties will return to the lower court to hear the substantive suit which was earlier adjourned sine die due to the appeal of Ifedayo LGA.
