Owoeye Commends Aregbesola for Deploying Modern Fire Fighting Truck to Ilesa.
The Speaker of the State of Osun House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye on Thursday 5th March 2020, commissioned a modern fire fighting truck to be stationed at the temporary site of the Federal Fire Service Training School, Ilaje, Ilesa.
The truck was handed over by the Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, Dr. Liman Alhaji Ibrahim who also disclosed that the truck is to serve dual purposes; for the training of fire fighters and for the use of the community in case of fire outbreak.
Speaking at the occasion, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye commended the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for giving approval for the establishment of the Federal Fire Service Training School for the Southwest Zone in Ilesa and he assured the the Controller General that the community will cooperate and make best use of the opportunity. He also disclosed that the State of Osun government is currently putting in place modern fire fighting stations in all the nine (9) federal constituencies of the State.
“I want to express my gratitude to the Minister of Interior, who is also a son of the soil, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for relocating the Federal Fire Service Training School of the Southwest zone to Ilesa and for deploying this state of the art modern fire fighting truck and fire fighters for the takeoff of the training school”. The Osun Assembly Speaker said.
On his part, Dr. Ibrahim Liman, stressed the need for collaboration between the Training School, Fire Fighters and the community as he emphasized the two local governments of Ilesa West and Ilesa West Central where the truck is stationed to provide more support for the effective use of the truck by providing backup water for its use. He also appealed to members of the public to give timely information to the service in case of fire outbreak, so that the fire fighters will be able to respond quickly to emergencies.
