OSUN LAUNCHES ”OSUN WOMEN’S CLINIC”
State of Osun launches OSUN WOMEN’S CLINIC. The clinic which is aimed at giving psychosocial support to women is an initiative of the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Affairs.
It is one of the programs of Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s administration to care for the social welfare of women in the State.
In a release issued by the Media Aide to the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Women, Children and Social Affairs Barr. Olubukola Olaboopo, the women’s clinic is meant to lend a shoulder and helping hand to women who have issues with family, marriage, career, children truancy, teenage or midlife crisis and other emotional or life challenges through counselling and giving of necessary support.
The women’s clinic is scheduled to hold every Tuesday and Thursday between 10am-1pm, at the Ministry at no cost to women. State social welfare officers, social workers, female lawyers and counsellors would be available at the clinic to attend to women.
The statement reads ”we are convinced of the need to lend shoulders to our women going by our experiences of what women encounter daily in life, a lot of women nurse suicidal thoughts, a lot are depressed, a lot are battered, a lot are weary, tired and confused and as a government, we can not fold our arms and watch them slip into oblivion” the Commissioner said.
The statement enjoins women to make good use of the opportunity.
