OSUN CRIMINAL JUSTICE BILL PASSED INTO LAW.

The State of Osun Administration of Criminal Justice Bill, 2018 has been passed into law by the State Parliament.

The bill which was an act of the National Assembly but was domesticated to suit its purposes according to the sociocultural nature of the state was passed into law through a motion moved and seconded by the Deputy Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Dejo Bello(Boripe/Boluwaduro) and Hon. Babatunde Komolafe(Atakunmosa East/West) respectively at the plenary of the House.

Commenting on the bill which was forwarded to the Assembly by the Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola in June 2015 for its consideration and passage into law, the Presiding Officer, Rt. Hon. Najeem Salaam, called for its thorough implementation by all concerned authorities in the dispensation of justice in the state the moment its accented to by the Governor.

Hon. Salaam further stated that the law when it comes into full operation will afford the Government, the Prison Authority, the Police and everybody connected with the Administration of Criminal Justice the opportunity to discharge their duties efficiently according to the law.

He, therefore, thanked his colleagues for their cooperation at all times in their efforts at giving the state the best law considering the volume of the bill in question which is about 200 pages saying Osun Assembly is always a step ahead of others as far as legislative duties is concerned in the country.

The Parliament also had a meaningful debate on the State of Osun Social Protection Bill, 2018 so as to fast tract its passage into law within a reasonable frame of time for the benefits of the citizenry of the state.
