Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Prince Gboyega Famodun, has expressed his gratitude to President Mohammed Buhari for the appointment of Senator Christopher Jide Omoworare as his Senior Special Assistant on National Assembly Matters(Senate).

The party chairman who spoke through his Media Consultant, Kola Olabisi, in Osogbo today said he was not surprised that Omoworare clinched the presidential appointment as it’s on record that he has been paying his dues as an ardent progressive politician over the years.

Famodun stated that apart from the fact that Omoworare is not a pushover in his chosen profession as a legal practitioner, the Ile-Ife-born politician had indeed proved his mettle at various times as a two-term member of the Lagos State House of Assembly and also an undiluted APC loyal senator of his time in the senate.

The party chairman disclosed that whoever has been following the political history of Senator Omoworare in the senate under the leadership of former Senate President Bukola Saraki would not agree less that Senator Omoworare was made a scapegoat on several occasions due to his constant loyalty for the ideal of the APC.

Famodun who said every action or inaction has its own reward which may either be positive or negative enjoined all the lovers, supporters and members of the APC in Osun State to rejoice with Omoworare over his current appointment and learn a crucial lesson that loyalty pays.

He tasked Senator Omoworare to ensure that his new appointment is made a vehicle through which the lingering cordial relationship between the Federal Government and Osun State would be further cemented, consolidated and translated to life more abundance for the people of the state.

According to Famodun, “it is not in the record of the APC where Senator Omoworare has ever gone against any decision of the party whether it favours him or not either in Lagos or Osun.

“The grandson of the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Adesoji Aderemi, is indeed a good ambassador of our party and the state; my only advice for him is to keep trudging on in his usual way of operating in the party.

“It is also pertinent to remind our Senator that his appointment should be made an additional bridge between the Federal Government and Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s administration with a view to attracting more developmental projects to Osun State”, Famodun counselled.

He reminded Senator Omoworare to always give priority to Osun issues and have it at the back of his mind that it would be worthwhile for the state to make his tenure as a Special Assistant on National Assembly Matters to President Buhari a memorable one.
