Osogbo Sports Club Honours Senator (Dr) Ajibola Basiru (SRJ)
Osogbo Sports Club has honoured Senator Ajibola Basiru at a Reception organised for him.
Osogbo Sports Club was established in 1939, the club is about 131 years old and it is about the oldest social club in the south west.
Members charged him not to relent in his efforts to better the lot of the society as he did a lot during the Covid19 and as he has engaged many youths and thus distinguishing himself as the best in this current dispensation from the State.
In his response, SRJ gave glory to the Almighty Allaah for the compliments,saying he does everything by His power.
As one of the prominent Senators on the floor of the Senate, Senator Basiru said he owed his constituents a lot.He appreciated the Club for the honour.
Giving his stewardship, the Senator disclosed he had submitted a petition from a concerned group as regards the abandonment of Osogbo Machine Tools revealing that the Senate Committee on Business and Enterprises is working on it.
He made it known that he had also engaged 80 youths as liaison officers at their various LGAs to interface with their communities.
He erected solar powered lights at Oja-Oba Market Osogbo to make things easy for market Men and Women. He provided motorized boreholes as requested by the people, scholarship for some students to Master level and grading of roads in some areas to ease suffering of farmers.
Senator Basiru also used the opportunity to inform the gathering of the Proposed Co-operatives Empowerment, 6 blocks of classrooms to be built across Osun Central and many more Social Intervention Programmes.
