Honorable Taiwo Oluga achievements in 365Days.

HON. TAIWO OLUGA’S ACHIEVEMENT IN 365 DAYS.

Hon.Taiwo Olukemi Oluga on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was declared winner of the Ayedaade/ Irewole/ Isokan Federal Constituency election on the 23rd February, 2019. She polled a total of 36,876 votes while her opponent on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) garnered 31,956 votes.

TRULY, REPRESENTATION WITH RESPONSIBILITY

Hon. Taiwo Oluga is the Chairman, House Committee Women in Parliament.

Member of Pan African Parliament.

She is also a member of the House committees on Rural Development,Tourism, Police etc.

As a vibrant legislator, she has presented and lend her voice to a number of Bills and Motions in the last 365 days at the Green Chamber. These include :

MOTIONS

(1.) A motion on the plight of disengaged N-power beneficiaries on the 13th of November, 2019.

(2.). A motion on the need to improve access of Nigeria students to quality basic education on the 23rd of July, 2019.

MOTIONS AND BILL’S SUPPORTED

(1.). Supported the Bill for an act to amend the appropriations Act, 2020.

(2.). A motion on 50% affirmative of women representation in politics dated on the 26th of November, 2019.

(3.). A motion on Nigeria National Hero on the 6th of November, 2019.

(4.). A motion on the need to improve access of Pension Reform Act on the 12th of December 2019.

(5.). A motion on the Uprise of cultism in Nigeria on the 18th of July 2019

(6.). A motion on death sentence for rape on the 27th of November, 2019.

(7.). Supported the motion on the need to address the issue of “mysterious Deaths” in Jigawa state. The motion futher calls for the urgent establishment of well equiped isolation and testing centres as part of measures towards curbing the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

(8.). On Wednesday 18th March 2020, she proposed an amendment to the motion on coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and that the House Leadership should be briefed weekly by the Minister of Health on the country’s preparedness for containing the pandemic.

(9.). Wednesday 11th March 2020,she supported the motion moved on the need to address the lapses of Security Operatives at the Nation’s Airports.

(10.) Supported motion on the need to re-assess and re-evaluate the tactical squads of the Nigeria Police Force.
She proposed an amendment to ensure that officers involved are made to undergo mental stability test and that such tests should be periodical to all law enforcement officers nationwide.
The motion was voted on and adopted as amended.

(11.). Supported the debate that called for an adequate mechanism to be put in place to ensure that Coronavirus doesn’t get out of control. She called for proper care for victims of the virus and more campaigns should be taken to the Nigerian people, especially those at the grassroots, through primary healthcare activities.

PETITIONS

(1). Submission of a petition from a constituent whose engagement with the Federal Road safety Commission was unlawfully terminated and another against the same commission which denied his due and deserved promotion.

(2). Submission of a petition by one of my constituents and his colleagues on the non-remittance of their salaries and arrears from Niger Delta Power holding company for many years.

In a bid to reduce unemployement among youths and other constituents in Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency, she has assisted a number of her constituents with Employment opportunities, skills and Financial support;

(1.). Engagement of 100 Youths across the Federal constituency under the Youth Empowerment Scheme as Taiwo Oluga Corps (Deployed to Health centres and Schools.

(2.). Skill acquisition training of 100 indigenes of Ayedaade/ Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency on small scale businesses with Start Up Capital.

(3.). Hon.Taiwo Oluga has provided and open up more opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship and skills acquisition through strategic implementation partners

(a) Ayedaade High School Ikire has 1251 student Participants

(b) A.U.D Middle School has 342 student Participants

(2.). Isokan Local Government has two Centres:

(a.). ADC High School Apomu has 750 student Participants.

(b.). St David Elementary/Middle School Ikoyi has 405 Students Participants

(3.). Ayedaade Local Government has five centres:
(a.).Olufi High School Gbongan has 981 student participants.

(b.). Community High schools Orile-Owu has 360 student participants.

(c.). Community Middle/High School Araromi Owu has 98 student participants.

(d.). St David High school Ode Omu has 574 student Participants

(e.). Community High School Tonkeere has 248 student participants.

The tutors and coordinators were well appreciated and remunerated.

(3.). Distribution of over 500 pairs of school uniforms to both Middle and High schools.

(5.). Distribution of over 2000 dozens of customized 60 note books to students.

(6.). 2019 Taiwo Oluga Father Christmas Program organized for Elementary/Middle Schools students across the Federal Constituency.

(7.). On going COVID-19 online competition for all undergraduate students across the Federal constituency
