Get organized, stop hallucinating on billboard vandalism, Osun APC tells PDP

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state of Osun has chided the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state to get organized and play responsible politics rather than hallucinating on billboard vandalism.

Reacting to the allegation by the PDP Caretaker Committee Chairman, Dr Akindele Adekunle that the ruling APC was responsible for the destruction and vandalization of Senator Ademola Adeleke’s campaign billboard, the party said ‘it is frivolous attempt to seeking cheap publicity through falsehood and accusations’.

This was contained in a statement issued from party’s Directorate of Publicity, Research and Strategy and made available to Newsmen on Saturday in Osogbo the state capital.

The party described the PDP’s accusations as stupid, mean and absurd, and challenged the PDP to prove beyond reasonable doubt, with evidence to show that truly, the billboards were vandalized by members of the APC, adding that, “he who alleges must have a proof to substantiate his allegations”.

According to APC, “the best thing for the opposition PDP in the state is to accept defeat before election and find a better way of telling their bankroller and paymaster the truth that there’s no amount of money, “Dollars or Pounds”, and no degree of frivolous accusations can make good people of Osun to change their unalloyed loyalty they have for Gov. Adegboyega Oyetola-led APC administration in the state.

“It is pertinent to let Nigerians know that the psyche of the PDP in Osun has been badly affected as the party is being managed by “strangers” from other states who know next to nothing about Osun politics and it is shameful that no Osun PDP leader is competent enough to pilot the affairs of the party”, the APC said.

The party also explained that immediately after PDP conducted its primary elections, those aspirants that felt cheated across the state were seen on social media destroying billboards, removing banners and campaign poster from branded vehicles made for the factional governorship candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke, and later dishing out penchant lies to discredit the ruling APC.Moreover, what will PDP say of the Osun APC’s vandalized billboards erected along Abere.

“Neither Osun APC nor the government of Alh Gboyega Oyetola will be distracted by the PDP’s baseless blackmails and unsubstantiated allegations. The APC-led government is too busy working on important developmental issues and cannot loose sleep over the PDP’s lies, adding that whether the PDP likes it or not, it will suffer another injurious defeat in the July 16 governorship election”.

Osun APC therefore advised the PDP to stop hallucinating of coming back to power. “The good people of Osun have been enjoying dividends of democracy under Gov. Oyetola. There’s no vacancy in Abere and Osun cannot allow looters of yesteryears in government again”.
