One time in fountain university on a Sunday, Aregbesola sneaked into the campus and headed to the mosque during Ramadan and was cleaning it.
The students he met there spotted him and started helping. He told them he can’t summon them to stop cos it is a general mosque and a rewarding work but instructed them not to gather others.
Yes, he donated some money and went away.
At that time, i was in d school studio opposite the mosque, after the event the students came in to gist .
My mind was blown.
This was during his regime in osun. This event came to mind while thinking about the Nigerian situation and how unfortunate we are. And i’v never felt so unfortunate, again during his regime when Aregbesola was invited to the graduation ceremony.
His unscripted but brilliant speech took him to his time in Unilag and how unfortunate we are not to experience such in our generation. It was so honest that he started apologizing that his generation took such experience away from us. I couldn’t have believed him if Prof Jimi Kayode in LASU didn’t already related such experience to us in school. It is what I am sure ppl in Harvard can’t be fortunate to experience.
Sorry and angry, i almost cried. Wondered what we have done to earn such backwardness from ppl that couldn’t manage themselves.
It is this vagueness we have inherited.
I might still have that video somewhere tho😏
It is probably a man that have been where u are going that can take u back there.
And if u are lost and d devil and unknown man tryna give u a hand, at least u are sure the devil knows all the way that leads to hell.
