APC chairman, Govs meet Sunday

Acrucial meeting between the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator Abdullahi Adamu and Governors elected under the platform of the party holds on Sunday.
The notice of the meeting was contained in a statement by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Barrister Felix Morka in Abuja on Friday night.
The high-level meeting is coming ahead of the Presidential and National Assembly elections slated for next Saturday.
Though details of the meeting were not available at the time of going the report, sources within the party said it may not be unconnected with the seeming disagreement between President Muhammadu Buhari and Governors of the party over the disruptive implementation of cash swap policy.
Governors of Kaduna, Kogi and Zamfara approached the Supreme Court to challenge the the newly introduced monetary policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) over the deadline for the validity of the old N200, N500 and N1000 notes by the apex bank from January 31,2023.
The meeting, our correspondent learnt, will also perfect plans for the February elections.
The statement reads: “The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), His Excellency, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, invites State Governors of the Party to an emergency meeting to be held on Sunday, February 19, 2023, by 2 pm at the National Secretariat, Abuja.”
