*REJOINDER: AKOL Pharmaceutical Company and the Special Adviser on Public Health, Dr. Olasiji Olamiju Are Two Different Entities*
My attention has been drawn to a publication currently trending on social media where libelous allegations was made against my boss Dr Olasiji Olamiju which has compelled me to respond so as to correct the misrepresentations and misinformation contained therein.
In the publication, it was alleged that, AKOL Pharmacy, a renowned pharmaceutical store in Osogbo, owned by the Special Adviser to Osun Governor on Public Health has been extorting the people by selling a nose mask at the rate of N250 and 1-litre of Hand Sanitizer at N6,500.
I wish to inform the general public that Dr. Olasiji Olamiju is no longer in charge of the company. He ceased to be the Managing Director/Chairman even before he was sworn in as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Health. He is now a government functionary and has since handed over the affairs of the company to a new Board of directors.
As a politician, he is no longer involved in the day to day runnings of AKOL Pharmaceuticals. Dr Olamiju is now seriously preoccupied with State affairs particularly Public Health matters of the State.
It is important to also note that, the Special Adviser on Public Health has never visited AKOL Pharmacy or any of its branches in the last three months as he has been preoccupied with how to prevent the deadly Lassa Fever and Coronavirus in Osun.
To further emphasize the fact, “Dr. Olasiji Olamiju is no longer involved in the affairs of AKOL Pharmacy, stop linking him with the company, he has since handed over to a new Board of Directors”.
As a Nigerian and consumer who patronises different supermarkets and stores, what I know is that prices of goods and services varies from store to store and it now depends on the quality of what you’re buying.
In view of the foregoing, I would like to inform the general public that the publication was part of an orchestrated campaign of calumny dating back to 2019 aimed at damaging Dr. Olasiji Olamiju’s hard-earned professional and personal reputation, character and to bring him into public odium, obloquy, infamy, scandal, scorn and contempt.
I however urge the promoters of the said publication to henceforth stop linking AKOL Pharmaceuticals with Dr. Olasiji Olamiju.
