Why Aregbesola Suspends Visitation Tó Ikirun.
There are indications that the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, might not attend today’s final funeral in honour of Pa G.O. Lawal, a leader of the All Progressives Congress in Ikirun, headquarters of Ifelodun Local Government of the State of Osun. Our source reliably gathered that some government elements had enlisted the service of merceneries to attack Aregbesola and members of the Osun Progressives, if he attends the funeral today.
Sources in the government told our reporter that some caretaker chairmen and APC stalwarts in Ifelodun, Boripe and Odo-Otin Federal Constituency last Wednesday held a meeting in Iragbiji, where they concluded using merceneries to attack the Minister and his loyalists.
Part of their plans is also to blackmail Aregbesola, turn the case against him and to misinform the public that he is the one that came to foment trouble.
Their grouse, according to sources is that Aregbesola’s would outshine Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, who is also billed to attend the funeral.
The medium learnt that some leaders of TOP were also mapped for possible assassination. Our source learnt that some leaders of the APC within and outside the State of Osun pleaded with Aregbesola not to attend the programme to allow peace to reign, since it was obvious that the government elements were hell-bent in getting rid of him.
In a bid to forestall the orchestrated possible breakdown of law and order, the Minister had reportedly called off his visitation to Ikirun.
